About This Trek

Panchase is the best short trek out of Pokhara — a compact 2- to 3-day loop through forest and traditional villages that delivers one of the finest close-range mountain panoramas near the city, all without the time or budget commitment of a longer trek. It’s a favorite for travelers with limited time, families, or anyone looking to add a genuine Himalayan experience onto a Pokhara or Chitwan itinerary.

The trek begins with a short boat crossing of Phewa Lake before climbing through forest to the World Peace Pagoda, then continues into the hills through Gurung and Magar villages toward Panchase Peak — a locally significant Hindu pilgrimage site as well as one of the best sunrise viewpoints in the region. From the summit, an unbroken panorama of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli and Dhaulagiri unfolds directly across the valley, with Phewa Lake and Pokhara city spread out below. The trail then loops back down through forest and farmland to a road-head, from where you’re driven back into Pokhara.
